The team at SickKids Centre for Global Child Health is pleased to invite you to attend a free webinar to launch the Optimising Child and Adolescent Health and Development Series published in The Lancet with The Aga Khan University. The event will take place on Thursday, April 28 2022 from 2pm to 4pm BST (9am to 11am EST).

The recently published Series, developed by an international group of experts in child health and development, highlights the urgent need to place child health at the center of the global development agenda. The Series provides insights and recommendations to improve child mortality, morbidity, and development, and reduce inequities in child health intervention coverage, delivery platforms, and quality of care through a holistic approach that supports children from preconception through early adulthood.

Live-streamed from Aga Khan Centre in London, UK, this webinar will feature experts Dr. Zulfiqar A. Bhutta (Series Co-ordinator), Dr. Robert Black, Dr. Cesar Victora, Dr. Margaret Kruk, Tyler Vaivada, Dr. Maureen Black and others on the rebuilding of holistic child health services after the COVID-19 pandemic. An interactive panel moderated by The Lancet’s Executive Editor Dr. Jocalyn Clark will feature Dr. Richard Horton, Editor-in-Chief of The Lancet, Dr. Jennifer Bryce of Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and Dr. Ties Boerma of the University of Manitoba.

The event will also include remarks from UNICEF’s Dr. Catherine Russell, Director-General of the World Health Organization Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus, and The Aga Khan University’s Dr. Carl Amrhein.
